IR Training (Thermographic Imaging)
IR Weatherization and Energy Audits Sponsored Training
This is a 4 day training course. The purpose of this training is to provide hands-on applications instruction in the use of thermo graphic imaging equipment for students. This training will focus
on the applications relevant to the inspection needs of the attendees, especially inspections of building systems, approaches to production and process-related problems, and a general background in solving thermal problems.
This course is designed for energy auditors, weatherization contractors and home inspectors who use thermal imaging or are considering adding the technology to their program or scope of work. This class will meet the needs of any building thermo grapher that is using infrared to inspect residential buildings for insulation defects, air leakage problems and moisture related issues as well as other common building defects.
Courses are open to all models of thermal imaging equipment.
There are several hands-on simulations and exercises built into the course. While owning an infrared camera is not required for attendance, participants are encouraged to bring their cameras to class. Completion of this course prepares students to successfully apply infrared technology to residential energy audits, insulation and air sealing work, and home inspections.
The training will consist of classroom lectures, group discussions, demonstrations and fieldwork for an initial group of up to sixteen (16) students.
Materials prepared especially for instruction in maintenance thermography will be used. Hands-on activities are emphasized so that participants use the equipment during a large portion of the training. Comprehensive training manuals, for use during and after the course, are included for each participant.
These services are an important and integral part of this proposed training. We find that much of the process of gaining expertise can take place only after the initial course. Additional training, mentoring and program services are always available. The curriculum and all instructors are overseen by ASNT Level III Certificate Holders. IR for Weatherization and Energy Audits is recognized for 8 CEUs from the Building Performance Institute.
A personalized Certificate of Completion or Certificate of Attendance for each participant that completes the required two day course.
Should students cancel within three weeks of the course date, we charge a 10% fee plus reimbursement for incurred expenses. The 10% cancellation fee may be applied towards a rescheduled class if confirmed within 1 week from original course date.
